The simulator was developed for health care providers (hospital, clinic, FQHC's, community health centers); students (medical, nursing, public health, social work); families and women of the birthing age.
We offer the simulator virtually and in person. However the most effective experience is the "in person" simulator. The virtual simulator is an abbreviated version and requires the zoom platform with breakout rooms. Individuals must be able to navigate the zoom platform to achieve optimal simulator results.
The Respectful Maternity Care Simulator is two and a half hours in duration. The simulation experience requires initial time for participants to be fully prepared for what they will encounter. The debriefing period is also required to support individuals who may experience challenges due to the sensitive nature and real case scenarios.
The Simulator requires a minimum of 12 participants and a maximum of 25 participants per session.
The simulator has a 99.2% efficacy rating based on pre and post participant surveys. The Likert scale was used to quantify aspects of the simulation experience. Qualitative data captured the impact of the experience. (More evaluation data to come with testimonials and videos soon.)
