Respectful maternity care

 First TEAM America (FTA) receives federal funding to support various public health initiatives and programs. While FTA is committed to promoting health equity and empowering communities through education and engagement, all federally funded activities are conducted in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Any advocacy-related content, discussions, or materials reflect the views of the individuals involved and are not supported by federal funds. FTA does not engage in lobbying or political advocacy with federal resources. 

According to the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention,  "More than 80% of pregnancy related deaths are preventable. A death is preventable if there was at least some chance it could have been avoided with reasonable changes to patient, family, provider, facility, system, and/or community factors."
